In an article published this morning, Derrick Burts, who has identified himself as adult performer Cameron Reid, made statements to the Los Angeles Times revealing his identity as Patient Zeta in the most recent incidence of HIV infection involving an active adult performer.

Burts' statement to the LA Times contradicts previously reported statements from Adult Industry Medical Healthcare (AIM). He claims that he was infected during a gay production shoot in Florida.

“The Free Speech Coalition is completely confident that the information released by AIM concerning the Patient Zeta is true and accurate,” FSC Executive Director Diane Duke said from Cartagena, Columbia this morning. She and FSC Board Chair Jeffrey Douglas are there to oppose the proposed .XXX domain at the ICANN Board of Directors meeting.

“Any attempt by AHF to state information to the contrary is not only inflammatory, but also consistent with its pattern of hostility toward AIM and the adult entertainment industry’s successful implementation of industry performer health protocols,” Duke said.
