Support of AB2640 - HIV Prevention Counseling to include PrEP and PEP

The Free Speech Coalition urges the Governor of California to sign AB 2640 (Gipson), which would ensure that HIV­ negative individuals who undergo HIV testing receive thorough counseling after their test. Specifically, AB 2640 would require that individuals determined to be at a high risk for HIV infection receive information about methods that reduce the risk of contracting HIV, including pre­exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post­exposure prophylaxis (PEP). By increasing awareness of PrEP, PEP, and other HIV prevention methods, AB 2640 will help reduce the spread of HIV in California.
