Do I talk to “real doctors”? Yes. Teladoc members only talk to actual doctors who are U.S. board-certified internists, state-licensed family practitioners, and pediatricians licensed to practice medicine in the U.S. and living in the U.S. When you request a visit, Teladoc will connect you with a doctor licensed in your state.
What are some of the common conditions Teladoc treats? Common conditions include sinus problems, respiratory infection, allergies, urinary tract infection, cold and flu symptoms and many other non-emergency illnesses.
Can Teladoc handle my emergency situations? Teladoc is designed to handle non-emergent medical problems. You should NOT use it if you are experiencing a medical emergency.
Can I speak with a specialist? You cannot request to speak with a specialist directly, but our doctors may be able to provide guidance on the type of specialist you should see.
Can I request a particular doctor? You cannot request a particular doctor. Teladoc is designed to support your relationship with your existing doctor. It is not a means of establishing an exclusive relationship with one of our doctors. Please know that all Teladoc doctors are highly qualified and go through rigorous training and credentialing. We have the largest physician network of any telehealth provider with board-certified, state-licensed doctors.
Can I get a prescription? Teladoc does not guarantee prescriptions. It is up to the doctor to recommend the best treatment. Teladoc doctors do not issue prescriptions for substances controlled by the DEA, non-therapeutic, and/or certain other drugs which may be harmful because of their potential for abuse. These include, but are not limited to, antidepressant drugs such as Cymbalta, Prozac and Zoloft which are drugs that are harmful due to their potential for abuse. Also, non-therapeutic drugs such as Viagra and Cialis are not prescribed by Teladoc doctors.
Where do the prescription drugs come from? Teladoc does not dispense prescription drugs. Our nurses call the prescription into the local pharmacy of your choice.
Is my electronic health record kept private? Health records are kept totally private and we employ robust encryption methods to protect your personal information. You determine who can see the information in your record.
Can I be turned down for a pre-existing condition?
We do not turn patients away because of pre-existing conditions.
Can I call Teladoc outside of the United States? You can request a Teladoc visit from anywhere in the U.S. You will speak with a doctor licensed in your home state. You must have a U.S. address and a U.S.-based phone number for the doctor to call back at the time of visit.

Q. What is LASIK?A. LASIK (Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis) is an outpatient treatment that uses an Excimer Laser (cool beam of light) to gently reshape the front surface of the eye (the cornea). Reshaping the cornea redirects the light angle as it enters the eye to refocus correctly on the retina. This allows images to be more sharply focused. Vision recovery is rapid, and there is little or no post-operative pain. With refractive procedures, your dependence upon glasses and contact lenses should diminish significantly.

Q. What is identity theft? A. ID theft is the misuse of an individual’s personally identifiable information (PII). In true identity theft, an identity thief fraudulently uses another person’s PII (name, Social Security number, date of birth, address, etc.) to obtain goods, services and/or employment, open new accounts for financial gain, or hide a real identity. Victims may not know about the fraud for a long time, which can allow the criminal to continue the ruse for months or even years. In recent years, the PII definition has expanded to include other personal information such a mother’s maiden name, pet names and other information which can often be a key to uncovering other PII or enabling a bad actor to gain access to otherwise protected information.

A fraud investigator from CyberScout will lead the restoration process and help you every step of the way. You will receive a personalized review and a customized, appropriate course of action. Once fraud has been resolved, your fraud specialist will conduct a six-month follow-up to ensure no other issues have occurred and to answer any additional questions.
Q. How is a credit score different from a credit report? A. Your credit score is a numerical representation of the history of credit use found in your credit report. Your credit report lists the details of your credit history, which can include creditor names, addresses, loan amounts, credit limits, payments made on time or past due, and amount of monthly payments. The ID Sanctuary free credit report is provided by TransUnion.
Q. How does monitoring protect me from identity theft? A. Credit report monitoring does not prevent identity theft. However, it can alert you to activity that may indicate identity theft is being attempted or has taken place. If you learn someone used your data to apply for credit, ID Sanctuary can help you take steps to prevent future misuse of your data.
Q. Is a Power Of Attorney required for resolution services? A. No. Resolution experts will lead the resolution process and help you every step of the way. You will receive a personalized review and a customized, appropriate course of action. However, you may submit a LPOA if you prefer CyberScout to work completely on your behalf.

Q. How do I access the Global Travel Assistance Service? A. Call the local or toll-free number on the back of your membership card and the My Benefits Work app and portal.
Q. When can I use the service? A. Global Travel Assistance will help with any type of illness or injury, regardless of the severity, anytime you are traveling 100 miles or more from home.
Q. Are there any times Global Travel Assistance cannot help? A. Global Travel Assistance cannot help you if you’re traveling against the advice of a physician, traveling to a country that is not deemed safe for travel, or need assistance related to a natural disaster.
Q. How does Global Travel Assistance help find medical care? A. When requested, Global Travel Assistance will provide referrals to pharmacies and medical, dental, and behavioral health professionals in the given geographic area. When possible, referrals will have western style medical facilities and English-speaking healthcare professionals.
Q. Does Global Travel Assistance require that I go to certain hospitals, doctors, or clinics? A. You should contact Global Travel Assistance before choosing a hospital so that we can refer you to facilities that we have previously worked with. If you go to other providers, we cannot be certain of the level of treatment. However, Global Travel Assistance will provide the same services regardless of where you are treated.
Q. What happens in the event I am hospitalized? A. Notify Global Travel Assistance as soon as possible. They will then monitor your care and work through the details of foreign hospitalizations. They will promptly speak with the treating doctor to assess your condition, treatment plans, and whether or not an evacuation is necessary. Global Travel Assistance will provide medical updates to anyone listed on your medical release as needed. Also, they will coordinate all insurance verifications and admission details.
Q. What if the local facilities are not able to provide treatment? A. If the treating medical facility is deemed inadequate, Global Travel Assistance will arrange and coordinate transportation to the nearest hospital where appropriate medical care is available.
Q. Once I am released from the hospital, do the services end? A. Global Travel Assistance helps you until you have returned home or have received final treatment.

Q. How does this benefit work? A. Just by calling the toll-free number on the membership card, a service vehicle is dispatched to the member’s location. Emergency Roadside Assistance is available throughout the United States and Canada, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Members only pay for any costs in excess of the $50.00 per occurrence limit plus any non-covered costs.
Q. Can the vehicle be left unattended where it became disabled and still be serviced? A. Service providers are not allowed to service an unattended vehicle so it is important that the vehicle remains attended after the call for assistance has been placed.
Q. Can members still be reimbursed if they pay out of pocket at the time of service? A. Members must contact Emergency Roadside Assistance’s 24-hour, toll-free number to have an authorized network service provider dispatched to their assistance. Assistance obtained through any source other than the Emergency Roadside Assistance provider is not covered and is not reimbursable. In the event that service is not obtainable through the Emergency Roadside Assistance provider, the member will receive an authorization number from the Emergency Roadside Assistance provider and will receive a refund of payments made according to the program benefit and coverage limits for services secured independently.
Q. What exactly is considered a “covered emergency?” A. The following are covered emergencies, subject to $50.00 per occurrence limitation:
- Towing Assistance – When towing is necessary, the covered vehicle will be towed to the closest qualified service facility or to any location requested;
- Battery Service – If a battery failure occurs, a jump-start will be applied to start the covered vehicle;
- Flat Tire Assistance – Service consists of the removal of the flat tire and its replacement with the spare tire;
- Fuel, Oil, Fluid, and Water Delivery Service – An emergency supply of fuel, oil, fluid, and water will be delivered if you are in immediate need. You must pay for the fuel or other fluid when it is delivered;
- Lock-out Assistance – If your keys are locked inside of the vehicle, we will provide assistance in gaining entry to the vehicle.
