Starting out in this business can be daunting, but FSC and its members are here to help. Historically, peer to peer mentorship has been the foundation on which many successful careers in the adult industry are based. There are a myriad of details and nuances specific to the adult industry and the many facets within it. Every approach is slightly different, as there is no formal blueprints for success in adult entertainment, which is why the forthcoming Industry Newcomer Support Program (INSPIRE) is designed to connected those just starting out in the industry with advice and resources from those who are already well established.
FSC Industry Code of Ethics
The FSC Industry Code of Ethics is a set of guidelines, adhered to by FSC members, in order to promote high business standards and responsible business practices. When you see the FSC COE emblem (at left), this is a cue to colleagues and consumers that tells them they’re dealing with a business they can trust. Please contact us for more information about the FSC Code of Ethics program.
Performer Availability Screening Services
FSC Performer Availability Screening Service (PASS) provides guidelines and services for the adult production industry designed to ensure a safe and healthy work environment of performers and adult film professionals. The PASS program was developed by industry stakeholders, compliance experts, doctors and attorneys, to uphold performer testing protocols and industry standards for self-regulation.
Performer Subsidy Fund (PSF)
The Performer Subsidy Fund (PSF) provides financial support to adult film performers to help subsidize up to three industry standard compliant tests (see PASS) per month.
The PSF was initiated in 2012 by adult film producers, and paid out $120,000 in donations made by Mindgeek directly to performers in 2016.
APAC Model Bill of Rights
FSC members endorse and are asked to display the Adult Performer Advocacy Committee’s (APAC) Model Bill of Rights and Professional Code of Conduct. The goal of these documents is to educate performers and producers about their rights, encourage professionalism and understanding between co-workers on-set.
The national trade association, FSC, strongly endorses and supports the rights, privileges, and responsibilities that APAC awards to performers and workers in our industry.
The Free Speech Coalition began working with the Center for Democracy and Technology (CDT) and others in 2016, after a report showed that many adult sites were vulnerable to hacking. In the past several years, adult sites of all sizes have suffered security breaches that have resulted in pirated content, exposed user databases, and millions in lost income.
“The HTTPS protocol is something every webmaster should be moving toward,” says Eric Paul Leue, Executive Director of the Free Speech Coalition. “It’s crucial to the survival of our business and, thanks to the resources from the CDT and others, the transition is much easier than many think.”
Our multi-faceted and diverse industry has historically been underserved, harassed, and discriminated against. FSC is committed to designing and expanding programs that protect, enhance, support, and help guide businesses, industry workers, and the communities we work with and for.
