The .XXX Ghetto: Where the Adult Industry and Conservatives Agree

NO_DOTXXX_500x335.jpg

It isn't very often that you'll see representatives from the adult industry agreeing with a group of conservatives - but when it comes to .XXX, it's pretty clear that no one is in favor of its approval except for domain registrar ICM (who've proposed the "sponsored" Top Level Domain"), its president Stuart Lawley and ICM's cohorts.

Today is the first day of domain regulatory organization ICANN's Board of Directors meeting in Cartagena, Columbia. FSC Executive Director Diane Duke (here in this video) is attending the meeting with FSC Board Chair and attorney Jeffrey Douglas to oppose .XXX - which will cost adult webmasters millions in unnecessary fees and make it easier for anti-adult entities to identify and block adult online businesses.

In this interview, taped in July for Russia Today (RT.com), Crosstalk show host Peter Lavelle speaks to Duke, attorney Robert Corn-Revere and Concerned Women for America's Wendy Wright, about the perils of .XXX for the adult industry and also for conservative media activists - NO ONE wants to get trapped in the .XXX ghetto.

We will have updated news on .XXX when Duke returns from Cartagena next week. -jc
