LOS ANGELES — The Free Speech Coalition, which on Monday received word that much of the recordkeeping regulations for adult producers had been gutted, today launched a "2257 lawsuit donation" page on its website.

“This battle has been going on since 2005 at more than $1 million in legal costs, and we currently still owe $165,000 before even considering the cost of a potential appeal,” the FSC said on its donation page.

The FSC issued a statement on Wednesday, explaining U.S. District Judge Michael Baylson’s final judgment and decree over 18 U.S.C. §§ 2257 and 2257A. The adult trade group called the judgment a “major legal victory.”

The legal battle, however, would continue if the Justice Department appeals Baylson’s ruling.

On its donation page, the FSC says, “We thank you for considering to make a donation in an effort to bring this case to a victorious conclusion.”
