Alec Helmy is the founder and publisher of XBIZ, the industry source for business news and information.

Helmy entered the industry in 1996 as an online retailer, and subsequently ventured into subscription-based streaming services and affiliate marketing before making news publishing his core focus. Today, Alec oversees the XBIZ suite of integrated media products, which includes XBIZ.com, XBIZ.net and monthly publications XBIZ World and XBIZ Premiere. Beyond publishing, XBIZ produces a series of annual conferences and award shows which culminate in the XBIZ Awards, the adult industry’s biggest night.

One of the early pioneers of the online adult industry, Helmy is the founder of ASACP, the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection, and has served as a board member of the Free Speech Coalition since 2009.
