Tumblr Disappears From Apple App Store and People Think Porn is to Blame (Metro UK)

Apple is famed for its anti-porn attitude and dedication to banishing smut from its online platforms. Now Tumblr fans are speculating that the app for their favourite microblogging site has fallen foul of Apple’s hatred of x-rated content.

The Tumblr app has disappeared from the App Store, prompting wild speculation about why it was pulled down.

Last week, Tumblr issued a statement which said: ‘We’re working to resolve an issue with the iOS app and hope to be fully functional again soon.

Fans have suggested that porn could be to blame – although this is not the official explanation. Tumblr hosts a vast amount of adult content, with a study last year claiming that roughly 20% of its users are exposed to pornography.
